Nick Kyrgios has just been confirmed for the Millennium Estoril Open, the portuguese ATP 250 tournament that will be played at Clube de Ténis do Estoril, in Estoril, Cascais, from April 25 to May 3. The young aussie is the second name confirmed for the event, after the announcement of João Sousa.
Ranked #37 in the world, Kyrgios is best known for his win over Rafael Nadal in four sets to get through to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon last season, but he has also played the QFs of the Australian Open this season. Yet to reach a final on the main tour, he was number one on the junior circuit back in 2013, the year he won the junior tournament in Melbourne Park.
At the age of 19, Nick Kyrgios is considered one of the most talented players in the world and consistently called a rising star. For João Zilhão, the tournament director, Kyrgios is “the best between the under-20”.
